TIDE OPENS 2024 SEASON WITH IMPRESSIVE 4TH PLACE FINISH
Competing with some of the top 5A and 6A teams from around the state, the Glencoe Crimson Tide opened the 2024 season with team score of 308 and a 4th place finish is a 17 team field. Glencoe traveled Monday to Canby to participate in the the Cougar Invitational at Willamette Valley Country Club. The Tide was led by junior Emmet Meiers top 10 finish and a round of 74. Meiers round included 4 birdies. Just two strokes behind in a tie at 15th was fellow junior Brody Landaker at 76. Sophomore newcomer Calvin Johnson shot a solid 78 in his varsity debut. Johnson's round included three birdies and a tie at 19th. Junior Owen Irving shot an 80 and another sophomore making his varsity debut was Tyler Rogers at 86.
West Linn won the tournament with a team score of seven over par 295.
The Tide begins conference play next Monday at Michelbook CC in McMinnville. First tee time is 11:15 am.
