TIDE CLAIMS 2ND IN
PACIFIC CONFERENCE
By virtue of finishing 2nd in the last four conference tournaments, the Glencoe Crimson Tide clinched a second place overall finish and earned a team berth in the Regional Qualifying Tournament next Monday at Stone Creek Golf Course in Oregon City. Glencoe was once again led by juniors Emmet Meiers and Brody Landaker who shot 75 and 78 respectively. Meiers birdied hole 15 and tied for 2nd. Landaker had three birdies and finished in a tie for 5th. Sherwood won today's finale and also claimed the conference championship and an automatic berth to the State Championships May 13 & 14.
At the conclusion of today's event four Tide golfers were named to the All Conference teams and Coach Tim Duvall was named conference coach of the year for the second straight year. See selections below.
Brody Landaker will compete with the team at Regionals, but has already qualified for state as an individual after having placed 3rd overall for the season in conference play.
Next Monday the Tide will compete with Newberg and McMinnville along with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishers from the Metro League and the PIL. At the regionals there will be three more team berths up for grabs to earn a spot at the Sate Championships.
